Boys or Girls, Does it matters?

A sad story in this modern days! Can you believe that there still exists discrimination of the sexes in today's world. I'm not a girl but I'm not biased. The story goes like this:
A middle aged woman who is suffering from some minor illness decided to will her assets after her retirement. For some unknown reasons, she told her 3 grown-up married children about her wish to equally divide her assets in her will. Anyway, she does not have much - a 99-year leasehold public flat, and a few thousand dollars.
At the lawyer office, it turned out that only her son was named in the will. She reasoned that she did not have her daughter's identification card number then, and the lawyer refused to name a person without proper identification. She even informed her daughter that in the event of her passing there is no cause to 'worry' as the two daughters could testify to her wish if the son refuses to hand over the equal shares to the siblings. What a hypocrite! Luckily, the daughters are not interested in her 'wealth'.
Every now and then, she would either seek favours or gain sympathy from the daughters. She would tell tales of the 'poor' son. She painted a sad tale of a son struggling to make ends meet. The truth is the son and wife are earning about $5000 combined. She would ask for the daughters to help her out every now and then. She would call her daughter to fetch her for medical checkout at the last minute, despite availability of the son. She would seek favours from the daughters despite her biasness. The story goes on and on... I shall not dread on as the rest is obvious.
Now, if I reveal that this happens today, will you believe it? I for one will not, as i do not believe in the notion that a son is better than daughter or vice versa. I would treat them the same and love them equally regardless of their sexes.
To all the mothers, Happy Mother's Day except ...Oop! Mother's Day is still some time away.. Anyway, i wish them the same. Ciao
